Hi, I am just about to purchase my first milling machine, which will be the Sieg SX2 from Arc Eurotrade, with a R8 taper . Has anybody who owns this machine got any words of wisdom, any pertinent observations ? TBH, I am actually purchasing the machine as a precision drill, and what I do require is accurate hole centre placement.

I don't have the mill, but I do have a Sieg 7x12 lathe. I built two Form 1 suppressors on it and while it worked fine for the aluminum .22 can I was REALLY pushing it on the stainless .308 one. For cutting harder materials, especially ones that work harden, it has two drawbacks - it can't take very deep cuts, and it's not real stiff.
